Docent, Dr. Tech. Mika Ylianttila
Biography (short)
Dr. Mika Ylianttila is a Docent in Information Engineering and Information Network Systems at the Computer Science and Engineering laboratory and Associate Director at the Media Team Oulu research group, at the University of Oulu, Finland. He received his doctoral degree in 2005, and was appointed docent 2007. He has acted as pro tem professor 2005-2009, being responsible of Information networks degree program, and has supervised 65 master thesis and one doctoral thesis. He has published more than 70 peer-reviewed publications. His research is focused on multimedia communication in mobile and ubiquitous information network systems. Networking research considers overlays, social and peer-to-peer networks, as well as content delivery and service computing. He is a Senior Member of IEEE.
