Energy-efficient Computing in Ubicom Systems
06/2007 -
The future homes and offices will include elements that measure, process and transfer data. This kind of elements can be integrated in clothes, packages, buildings and the human body. It may even be possible to print cameras into wallpapers. The main problem within such systems will be the energy feed which cannot forever be covered by traditional accumulators, batteries or from the electrical network.
This project focuses on developing computer platforms that have ultra-low power consumption, especially in stream computing. The deliverables will consist of methods and tools for embedded systems in ubiquitous computing systems.
This project belongs to the Ubicom- Embedded ICT Programme of the Finnish Funding Agency for Technology and Innovation.
